Every year, Thompson Rivers University Society of Law Students “SLS” hosts a two-day conference to bring awareness to an important and prevalent legal issue. This year, we are excited to be hosting a conference with the theme “Criminal Justice System Reform in Canada.”

The conference will include topics including topics such as sentencing reform, rehabilitation, systemic racism, and the overrepresentation of Indigenous people the justice system.

Our speakers will share their insights on the above topics, based on their diverse backgrounds and experience with the Criminal Justice System. We hope to facilitate an enriching dialogue with all those attending.

The conference takes place on February 6th and 7th , 2024 on TRU Campus.

On February 6th, attendees are invited to attend a mixer with conference speakers at the TRU Law Atrium located on the third floor of the Old Main Building.

On February 7th the conference speakers will present their topics in the reading room across from the TRU Law Library.

Refreshments will be served at both events. There will also be a cash bar at the mixer.

Please note that attendance is free for both the conference and mixer, but please RSVP to reserve your spot. All TRU students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

We look forward to seeing you there!
